Around 1860, to save silkworm farms contaminated by an epidemic, Hervé Joncour undertook four expeditions to Japan to buy healthy eggs. Between the mountains of Vivarais and Japan, it was a clash of two worlds, a story of love and war, a wonderful alchemy that weaves the novel with intangible threads. Long and dangerous journeys, impossible loves that continue without ever having begun, characters of desire and passion, the velvet of a voice, the sacralization of a magnificent and sensual fabric, and the slowness, the slowness of the seasons and of immutable time. Silk, published in Italy in 1996 and in France in 1997, became a cult novel within a few months—a well-deserved success for the most refined of young Italian writers.

FAQ

Here are the answers to the most common questions I get asked, please review them and reach out to me if you need more info on something, I love to help you pick the right book, just for you!

Are the books New?

Yes, all the books that I sell during my bookfairs or online on my e-boutique are brand new.. You will be the very first to flip all the pages and enjoy the feeling of holding your own book in your hand.

What defines the prices of the books?

As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.

Do you have a shop?

My main way of meeting you is book fairs, festivals and private sales. Ordering online through my e-boutique is the best way to support French Authors and Small Minority Owned business like mine. I also have a physical location present in Orange County accessible via appointment only. Please contact me through text to get more information!
