"J'apprends à lire avec Sami et Julie" is a collection of short stories specially designed for children learning to read. The text is written in large type, with words clearly separated from each other and lines well spaced out. The stories are short and easy to read. They are written with words that match the child's progress, and the amount of text to be read is reduced and adapted to keep the child motivated and confident.
In addition to the short story, the book contains: advice to help children with their first readings, a presentation of the characters, activities to prepare for reading, and at the end: "Have you understood the story?" to give meaning to what the child has read, and to go further than simple deciphering, as well as a "And you, what do you think?" section with little questions to "make them think" or simply discuss the story.

En plus de la petite histoire, le livre contient : des conseils pour accompagner l’enfant dans ses premières lectures, la présentation des personnages, des activités pour préparer la lecture, et à la fin : « As-tu bien compris l’histoire ? » pour donner du sens à ce que l’enfant a lu et aller plus loin que le simple déchiffrage ainsi qu’une rubrique « Et toi, qu’en penses-tu ? » avec des petites questions pour « faire réfléchir » ou simplement discuter autour de l’histoire.

As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.
