"A black-and-white photo of a little girl in a dark bathing suit on a pebble beach. In the background, cliffs. She's sitting on a flat rock, her sturdy legs stretched out straight in front of her, arms resting on the rock, eyes closed, head slightly tilted, smiling. One thick brown braid pulled back in front, the other left behind. Everything reveals the desire to pose like the stars in Cinémonde or the Ambre Solaire ad, to escape her humiliating, unimportant little girl body. On the back: August 1949, Sotteville-sur-Mer." Through photos and memories left behind by events, words and things, Annie Ernaux makes us feel the passage of years, from the post-war years to the present day. At the same time, she inscribes existence in a new form of autobiography, impersonal and collective.

FAQ

Here are the answers to the most common questions I get asked, please review them and reach out to me if you need more info on something, I love to help you pick the right book, just for you!

Are the books New?

Yes, all the books that I sell during my bookfairs or online on my e-boutique are brand new.. You will be the very first to flip all the pages and enjoy the feeling of holding your own book in your hand.

What defines the prices of the books?

As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.

Do you have a shop?

My main way of meeting you is book fairs, festivals and private sales. Ordering online through my e-boutique is the best way to support French Authors and Small Minority Owned business like mine. I also have a physical location present in Orange County accessible via appointment only. Please contact me through text to get more information!
