L'enfant multiple - Andrée Chedid
1 in stock - Almost gone!
Everything was hurtling toward the cold, toward violence, toward death. Everything was hurtling toward summer, toward peace, toward life. Spinning and whirling endlessly, the Carousel continued its dance. The son of an Egyptian Muslim and a Lebanese Christian, the grandson of a troubadour, Omar-Jo is a happy child. But he lives in Beirut, where, in 1987, men are at war. One beautiful, sunny Sunday, right outside his front door... the explosion. Deafening, deadly, it takes more than his life. His parents. His arm. Yet the child who leaves Lebanon clings to hope and imagination. In Paris, he meets Maxime, the carnival worker at a merry-go-round worn down by time and its owner’s melancholy. Omar-Jo will then restore all their magic to the wooden horses, just as he will breathe into Maxime the strength needed for dreams and happiness, for youth and love.

FAQ
Here are the answers to the most common questions I get asked, please review them and reach out to me if you need more info on something, I love to help you pick the right book, just for you!
Are the books New?
Yes, all the books that I sell during my bookfairs or online on my e-boutique are brand new.. You will be the very first to flip all the pages and enjoy the feeling of holding your own book in your hand.
What defines the prices of the books?
As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.
Do you have a shop?
My main way of meeting you is book fairs, festivals and private sales. Ordering online through my e-boutique is the best way to support French Authors and Small Minority Owned business like mine. I also have a physical location present in Orange County accessible via appointment only. Please contact me through text to get more information!
