Giuseppe Arcimboldo is one of the world’s most famous Italian Renaissance painters. A documentary-style book that reads like a story, highlighting key moments in his life to help readers understand his art. A book for ages 5 and up, offering everything you need to know about the master of composite heads.
A multi-talented artist
Giuseppe Arcimboldo is one of those painters whose works we’ve all seen... without always knowing their names! He wasn’t the inventor of these composite portraits made from objects or plants, but he was their most famous painter. After early work in cathedrals, including Milan’s, Giuseppe’s life took a turn when the emperor asked him to paint his family at the court in Vienna, Austria. At the same time, he began creating his composite portraits. But he was also a highly talented and versatile artist: he drew flora and fauna for scientists, designed costumes, created sets and processions for imperial weddings, played music, and invented machines... He was also tasked with creating the emperor’s cabinet of curiosities during this era of great discoveries. This ingenious artist, who was very much in vogue during his lifetime, created works for the imperial family across three generations, and even continued to do so after his return to Italy until the end of his life.

FAQ

Here are the answers to the most common questions I get asked, please review them and reach out to me if you need more info on something, I love to help you pick the right book, just for you!

Are the books New?

Yes, all the books that I sell during my bookfairs or online on my e-boutique are brand new.. You will be the very first to flip all the pages and enjoy the feeling of holding your own book in your hand.

What defines the prices of the books?

As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.

Do you have a shop?

My main way of meeting you is book fairs, festivals and private sales. Ordering online through my e-boutique is the best way to support French Authors and Small Minority Owned business like mine. I also have a physical location present in Orange County accessible via appointment only. Please contact me through text to get more information!
