Marseillette, 1977. In the café that welcomed, stifled and then revealed her, Carmen mourns her beloved niece. Now over forty, she recalls the characters who changed her life. Those who plunged her into the depths, who set her on the right path. Those who knew how to pierce her flaws and listen to her desires. Not forgetting her sisters, with whom she shares the stigma of exile but refuses to follow in their footsteps. Because after so much hardship, Carmen also wants to invent her own destiny...

From a hacienda in Spain, where Franco's regime raged, to the Ventas prison in Madrid, via a transatlantic liner, Olivia Ruiz takes us into the torments of a story that intertwines with the larger one, where love triumphs over violence.

Marseillette, 1977.

FAQ

Here are the answers to the most common questions I get asked, please review them and reach out to me if you need more info on something, I love to help you pick the right book, just for you!

Are the books New?

Yes, all the books that I sell during my bookfairs or online on my e-boutique are brand new.. You will be the very first to flip all the pages and enjoy the feeling of holding your own book in your hand.

What defines the prices of the books?

As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.

Do you have a shop?

My main way of meeting you is book fairs, festivals and private sales. Ordering online through my e-boutique is the best way to support French Authors and Small Minority Owned business like mine. I also have a physical location present in Orange County accessible via appointment only. Please contact me through text to get more information!
