2 in stock - Almost gone!

“When he opened the door to room 807, his face looked familiar to me. I don’t know if any scientist has ever studied what it feels like to be reunited with a long-lost relative, but for me it was a gut feeling. I had the immediate sense that I was standing before my father. ”

Gurvan and Joseph know almost nothing about their Indonesian father. Having left fifteen years earlier, he never kept his promise to return to Brest to celebrate Christmas with them. Having vanished without a trace, his only legacy was two photos that eventually faded to white. But who is this man with the look of a Hong Kong movie bad boy whom his children have never stopped admiring and imagining, despite the pain of abandonment? A secret agent, an explorer in the tropical jungle, or a prince of the islands? Raised by his Breton mother and grandmother, Gurvan, now a young adult, will discover—not with anger, but with curiosity—the cracks, the lies, and the other lives of this father who never knew how to be one.
A delicate and poignant debut novel about cultural mixing and the complexity of emotions, in the shadow of amok—another name for madness.

FAQ

Here are the answers to the most common questions I get asked, please review them and reach out to me if you need more info on something, I love to help you pick the right book, just for you!

Are the books New?

Yes, all the books that I sell during my bookfairs or online on my e-boutique are brand new.. You will be the very first to flip all the pages and enjoy the feeling of holding your own book in your hand.

What defines the prices of the books?

As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.

Do you have a shop?

My main way of meeting you is book fairs, festivals and private sales. Ordering online through my e-boutique is the best way to support French Authors and Small Minority Owned business like mine. I also have a physical location present in Orange County accessible via appointment only. Please contact me through text to get more information!
