Italy, the 1930s. A bus pulls up in the town square of Lizzanello, a small village in Puglia. Carlo, a native of the South, gets off, accompanied by his wife, Anna. Originally from the North, she discovers an unfamiliar land, frozen in time, weighed down by the burden of tradition. Anna doesn’t go to church; she loves to read and is curious. In the eyes of the villagers, she is “the outsider.” Against Carlo’s advice, she becomes Lizzanello’s first female mail carrier. For more than twenty years—first on foot, then by bicycle—she delivers the mail: lovers’ letters; letters from men sent to the front or who had left to seek their fortune abroad. Serving as a bridge between the villagers, Anna knows all their secrets. But there is one secret she will keep until her death. Against the backdrop of historical events, Francesca Giannone—who drew inspiration from her great-grandmother’s past as a mail carrier—paints a portrait of a free spirit and tells a deeply moving love story. Despite the tragedies and unfulfilled desires, a luminous atmosphere pervades these pages.

FAQ
Here are the answers to the most common questions I get asked, please review them and reach out to me if you need more info on something, I love to help you pick the right book, just for you!
Are the books New?
Yes, all the books that I sell during my bookfairs or online on my e-boutique are brand new.. You will be the very first to flip all the pages and enjoy the feeling of holding your own book in your hand.
What defines the prices of the books?
As a passionate small business owner, my goal is to offer a high level of quality imported from France at the best price. I understand that some people may be surprised by the difference of price between French and American books. In France, books are more expensive as authors and illustrators get larger copyright compensations. Also, imports cost quite a bit if you take into account the price of transport as well as the weight of what is being transported. I appreciate your constant support, when you choose sustainable small businesses over large corporations.
Do you have a shop?
My main way of meeting you is book fairs, festivals and private sales. Ordering online through my e-boutique is the best way to support French Authors and Small Minority Owned business like mine. I also have a physical location present in Orange County accessible via appointment only. Please contact me through text to get more information!
